This weekend the Volla community days!

Dear UBports community,

Topic 1

Just a very short notice that this weekend the Volla community days will take place online.

All you need to know about this event can be found on this page.

No doubt it will be a fun event with many interesting topics. If somebody could do a small write-up and sent it to me I'll make sure it gets in the next news letter.

Topic 2

You remember the poll I ran about this new template? Well these are the results:

I guess we can safely say this is an improvement. Great! \o/

I still need your help! :-)

Topic 3

Oh, and I still need your help with getting contact info for our press releases. I had wonderful feedback from several community members, so a big thanks for that!

I now have  contacts for 8 countries. Great! A small downside to this impressive number is that there are currently 195 countries in the world. Now, I know we all want world domination :-) and I understand that maybe we don't have members from all 195 countries in our community. But please, if you can spare like 5 minutes, please send me a list of important news papers and IT magazines in your country and the email address for press releases. I really wish I could read all the languages of the world, but unfortunately I can't. Please help me out guys.

This is what I would very much like you to do:

  1. Make a small list of IT magazines in your country. So, Linux and open source magazines, but also general IT magazines that you know. Or business magazines that do tech news.

  2. Make a small list of the biggest news papers in your country. If you want to add your favourite, go right ahead.

  3. search on their website for the email address of their 'news desk'. (Let's say the IO channel of the journalists that work there.)

  4. Send to me (jeroen at ubports dot com) this list like: "organisation or magazine name:", "if they mention first-name+last-name on their website","email address"

  5. Any format will do. odt, csv, txt, I don't care, as long as I get the data!

  6. Oh, and I need this as soon as possible but not too soon. Just, well, don't forget to do it, so do it now 😊

Many, many, many thanks.

Greets,

Jeroen Baten
